IRS Names Said Nassif as Managing Director

•  LONDON, 24 August 2009 - International Register of Shipping (IRS), one of the largest independent classification societies, appointed Said Nassif as managing director as incumbent Bijimon Punnoose is promoted to the management committee.

International Register Training Institute wins IRCA accreditation

• LONDON, 8 October 2009 - The International Register Training Institute has been recognized as an IRCA approved Training Organization. International Register Training Institute (IRTI) is a division of the classification society International Register of Shipping, a provider of classification, certification, verification, training and advisory services. This marks another significant step in International Register of Shipping’s progress towards building one of the most professional organizations in the maritime business.

International Register of Shipping presents to Brazilian Naval School

• LONDON, 23 November 2009 - International Register of Shipping Managing Director Mr. Said Nassif along with IRS Brazilian representative Mr. Castello Branco, this month were invited to address the Brazilian Naval School of merchant officers in Rio de Janeiro, presenting to newly graduated Port State Control Officers about Safety Management Systems (SMS) and the International Safety Management (ISM) Code.
