Certificate Of Fitness For the Carriage Of Motor Vehicles
A Certificate of Fitness for the carriage of Motor Vehicles is a service that INTLREG provides for applicable vessels (generally RO-RO vessels) based on the voluntary requirement placed by the client for such a certificate or based on the requirements of the legislation laid out by the respective Flag authority for issuing such a certificate. The certificate is awarded to a ship following a successful plan review and survey to prove its compliance with the rules and regulations of the code applied to it.
Circular n. 322295 dated 21 August 1967 of the Italian Ministry of Merchant Marine is one such regulation that has been used in the past, as a code for providing a “Certificate Of Fitness For the carriage of Motor vehicles” for a RO-RO vessel, by INTLREG, based on a voluntary requirement from the client.
