During construction of a new vessel INTLREG surveyors always advise builders of Class requirements which include:

• The grade and condition of the material.
• The purpose for which it is intended.
• The requirements for INTLREG survey together with details of the applicable tests and inspection.

INTLREG surveyors are always careful to ensure adequate control of incoming materials to a builder. This is in order to prevent the use of inappropriate material which has not been accepted by INTLREG at the steelworks or foundry as required by the Rules.
