INTLREG supports shipowners from very early stages of ship construction
Some of the earliest stages of ship construction are forgings and casting processes. The Rules for Ships require that steel used in the construction of engines, boilers and other pressure vessels is in the INTLREG’s approved list.
Forgings and castings are to be examined at as early a stage as possible so as to ensure that any flaws or defects may be dealt with promptly, thereby causing the minimum interruption in production.
Such examinations may be arranged to coincide with routine periodic visits to the workshops to examine and dimensionally check those items on completion of the various machining processes.
